Week 14

Dear students, Today you will hand in your final papers, which are worth 20 points each. You should review in-text citations and references by downloading and bringing to class the two files below: APA formatted in-text citations APA formatted references If your final test intext citation or reference was marked as incorrect, please correct them and show it to your teacher. Week 13

Dear students, Today you will hand in your final paper, and take a final test. The test is to write a two paragraph reaction paper about an event in one of today's newspapers. You may bring in a newspaper to class if you wish, or you may access one online. You should summarize the article's contents and include in intent citation marker in APA format. The second paragraph should be your opinion of the story. Finally, you should write an APA style reference to match your intext citation marker. Kind regards, Chris Elvin

Dear students, Today please read your survey reports that you completed for homework. After that you will start your final paper about one of the six topics covered in class. Dear students, Today you will write a two-paragraph review of a graded reader that you read recently. The first paragraph should describe the story (who, what, when, where, why, how) and finish with an in-text citation (the author's family name, comma, year of publication of the book you read enclosed by parentheses). Dear students, The grading criteria has been changed to as follows: Attendance and participation/group work (30%) You should attend ALL classes. l   Students need to attend 80% or more of the classes taught to earn a passing grade. Students who are absent from class four times or more fail the course. l   You may apply for exemption when your absences are due to the following cases.   1. Officially approved illnesses (学校感染症)   2. Lay judge (裁判員制度)   3. Bereavement leave (三親等以内の忌引き) l   Coming late for class two times is counted as one absence in this course. l   Train delay slips ( 遅延証明 ) issued at stations are not valid unless in the case of a serious interruption of service due to an accident.
